Why We Started The Ozark Fork & Cork
A small-room wine bar built for the Twin Lakes area, one board at a time.
Supporting Arkansas, One Board at a Time
We opened The Ozark Fork & Cork because we wanted to bring something genuinely special to the Twin Lakes area. Inside the equally unique all local-made store, Mountain Homemade; From wall-to-wall it's a reflection of all things that are special to us. We are farmers and Sally has her own pickling business. The shoppe exists so we and other farmers, gardeners, bakers and crafters have a dedicated place to sell the things we produce. The Ozark Fork & Cork provides a little 'up-scale' experience. Where else in the area can one shop with a glass of wine in-hand?
Most of the décor in the restaurant is family heirloom items. It's a little old, a little new and a little retro all at the same time. It's a comfy place (with a couch even) where friends can gather and have a conversation over a quality glass of wine that you can't find anywhere else around here. A place that's always relaxing.
Our dream was to have a place that people would want to visit again and again because it's just that unique and fun. A place where the service is friendly, the food is consistently good and the wine and beer are top-notch. We'd like to think we've pulled it off and we hope you'll agree.
We work with Arkansas purveyors and small producers where we can, and import the rest from small producers we trust in Europe and beyond. Every board is built to order — nothing pre-packaged, nothing rushed.
We kept the room small on purpose. It means the tables are close enough to talk, the bar knows your name by your second visit, and nobody’s asking you to turn the table over in an hour.
